ecisions are primarily aimed at changing the present set of condition of any workplace to a desired or a better set of condition. With

increasing complexity of the environment, it requires better understanding of the process of decision making, its limitations and

factors influencing the quality of decisions. This paper will analyze the decision-making process in respect of emergency conditions

in coal mines and different factors that influence it. Further, the paper will present a case study of Anjan Hill Coal Mine Disaster with

respect to decisions taken during mine emergency that occurred in 2010 in India.
