Abstract
Information and communication technologies have dramatically changed our society. Internet in daily human life has been makes everything change, every people in the world can interact with the other people everywhere and every time without boundaries. In current time, social media has comes that used by internet users in around the world. One of the functions of social media is dissemination of information in variety conditions and goals. In disaster management studies one of the key problems in managing a major disaster is the whole area of communication. The aim of this study is to identify relation between disasters respond activity with social media, study case in ?Jalin Merapi? in Merapi volcano eruption disasters 2010 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study analyzes how ?Jalin Merapi? construct the system that use the social media as dissemination information tools, effectiveness the system, and availability adopt ?Jalin Merapi? system in other disaster respond activity.
