Abstract
Many places of the world are experiencing flu epidemics. News of such epidemics is our concern in almost every winter. We are also trying to combat with the pathogenicity of flu virus by new drug development by developing new vaccines. The vaccination strategy is not producing encouraging results due to antigenic shift and drift of the virus. The administered vaccine may not be helpful for a particular pathogenic strain of the virus. The effect of the available drugs is not very encouraging to boost up our expectations particularly due to development of drug resistance virus strains. Therefore the need of the hour is to develop novel strategies to combat influenza. One such approach is simultaneous oral and inhalational supplementation of various biomolecules including L-ascorbic acid. This issue will be highlighted in the talk, discussing potential candidate compounds for oral and inhalational supplementation for prevention and cure of influenza.
