Abstract
This study focuses on the assessment of Occupational safety and Health /OSH/ eminence chronologically since 1985 to 2013 classifying by chronological investigation. Thus, the literature review purpose is to review different literature on time based chronological sequences of the studies regarding the occupational safety and health in order to draw out gap from different studies focusing on Ethiopian OSH circumstances. It focuses on examining of each individual studies finding, each individual study?s conclusion from its examination, summarizing the collective results of the OSH chronological fluctuations impact on human and workplace to make easily understandable by other readers for any purpose, and finally to conduct the current state- of- art OSH circumstance in order to conduct extra research studies and identify focus areas on OSH design in different organizations. This literature review provides insight on the occupational safety and health chronological emergency since 1985 considering both developed and developing countries. It is also important to show its current state- of- the- art for readers, researchers, future research direction, and input for the extra investigation on OSH problem dynamically changing to save life and create proper workplace and hazard control. The other purpose is that to see the details of the previous literature researches done by different authors by classifying in a certain boundaries of time considering the available data obtained from published resources. This helps to investigate the researches gap and way of presentation in the studies how to curb the ever increasing occupational safety and health problem with technology. The research was monitored using electronics sources considering key words, abstracts, OSH, SMS and other related documents that focus on the interest of the study. The electronics and hard copies of the sources reviewed were 461 and among them only 60 peer reviewed articles and publications were analyzed in the discussion parts. It was also conducted by looking at Ethiopian case companies especially on construction industries and small and medium scale production enterprise. It has concluded that the existing studies and reports commonality and dissimilarity, and the overlooked or ignored in the studies has been identified. Finally, it has been concluded that a judgment on the quality of the literatures revised in chronological sequences. In addition to, the key findings that appeared in the studies, comparisons of different studies idea were made and were more work needed is pointed out.
