Abstract
Background: The number of drug use in Indonesia is increasing every year. The prevalence of drug abuse in 2021 is more than three point six million people. The problem that quite prominenttoday in Indonesia is multiple drugs use which turns out to be widely used by people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). About 70% of young adults with BPD also develop a substance-related disorder at some time in their lives. Multiple drug use has a serious impact on medical and psychological problems, therefore it needs to be handled properly, especially with the presence of difficult comorbidities such as BPD. Purpose and Goal: To explain the risk factor and relationship of drug use and borderline personality disorder. Handling the comorbidities is very challenging, hence it requires a special therapeutic approach and needs to be handled professionally in every aspect. Spesific Points to be discussed: List of multiple drug use in Indonesia, the serious impact on medical and psychological problems: lead drugs addiction, overdose deaths and withdrawal effect, cost implications which may include dealing with adverse outcomes such as dependence, widespread social problems of drug abuse. Comorbidities with BPD as well as it��?s relationship and its impact. Programs to handle, like preventive and promotive program from national treatment programs, long-term hospitalization for rehabilitation program, and special therapeutic approach like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
