Abstract

Abstract: Patients requiring full mouth rehabilitation with fixed prosthodontic modalities pose a challenge to many dental specialties. The aim is to restore the existing natural dentition to its natural form, function and esthetics while maintaining the physiologic integrity in harmonious relationship with the adjacent hard and soft tissues so as to enhance the oral health and quality of life of the patient. This scientific presentation reviews the various occlusal concepts, philosophies, techniques and approaches to achieve long term clinical success in such patients. The same will be highlighted via patient cases restored with different types of fixed prostheses. Key words: Occlusion, Full mouth rehabilitation, Fixed prostheses

Biography

Surg Capt Maninder Hundal, VSM is a Prosthodontist of established repute and is currently serving as the Executive Officer in the Indian Naval Dental Centre, Danteshwari at Mumbai which is a prestigious institute of the Indian Armed Forces. She has served the forces for 20 years now. She has been awarded with numerous awards by the Indian Army as well as the Indian Navy for her meritorious work in serving the organization in both field as well as peace establishments. She did her Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Govt Dental College, Amritsar, Punjab in 1997 with a gold medal and her Masters in Prosthodontia from Armed Forces Medical college, Pune, Mumbai university, India in the year 2001-2004. She is an avid National and International speaker with numerous scientific papers and publications to her credit. She is also an affiliate faculty for the post graduate residents of Prosthodontics at the Army Dental Centre; Referral & Research, New Delhi as well as the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India.
