Abstract

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectanasy and increased health problems. Closely associated with life style related diseases such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, and type 2 diabetic mellitus etc., In the present study we revile the Nalingi Cremulata plant leaves methanol, ethanol, hexane and acqueous extracts were screened to anti obesity on adult rats.A Metabolic syndrome ? like clinical model in mice was generated by feeding a 40% high fat diet to examine the anti obesity effects of chronic administration of different extracts. After 3 to 4 weeks body weight, white adipose tissue weight, plasma triglycerides levels and total cholesterol levels in the model mice were significantly inhibited by the 40% methanol extract and these effects are similar to those of Anti obesity drugs. Further these extracts were fractions and which compound is against to the obesity will determine.
