Slip, trip, and falls (STF) continue to be significant occupational safety concern, and causes occupational injuries and fatalities in the
workplace and daily activities. This paper shows the results of a comparative study done in India to assess the impact of slip, trip and
falls among hill women of different age groups like young adults, middle aged and elderly. It was found that on the whole, more than half
of respondents i.e. 52.78% reported STF during carrying fodder activity, followed by 49.44% respondents who reported STF in carrying
firewood. STF during collecting fodder was reported by 47.78% of total respondents and collecting firewood was reported by 43.89%. It was
also analysed that more STF accidents were reported by elderly age group compared to middle aged and young adults. Like, for harvesting
13.33% of elderly respondents reported STF whereas comparatively less i.e., 08.33% of young adults and 06.67% of middle aged reported STF.
Immediate effect of the STF faced by the respondents were also analysed and it was found that majority of respondents i.e., 76.67% of the total
respondents reported that because of the slip, trip and falls accident they either hurt their back and/or they suffered from back pain, followed
by 72.22% of the respondents reporting general pain or injury because of STF. Also, it was found that among young adults majority reported,
71.67% suffered from general pain/injury as the effect of STF, among middle aged adults maximum 81.66% reported that they suffered from
back pain/hurt pain injury and in case of elderly maximum (76.67%) respondents said that they suffered from general pain/injury followed
by 53.33% respondent suffered from fracture incidents.
