Assessing satisfaction with hearing aids based on style among hearing impaired persons

Abstract
Objectives: WHO (2005) estimated 278 billion of people suffer from hearing loss that about 2/3 of them live in developing countries. The practical step in aural rehabilitation process for majority of persons who have hearing loss is hearing aid. Methods: 187 patients with hearing loss fitted with different hearing aids were included. Scale �Satisfaction with Amplification in Daily Life" (SADL) was applied used to assess the benefits yielded by the hearing aids. Results: In evaluation of satisfaction with hearing aid, the positive effects showed the highest mean score among SADL subscales and negative features has the least mean score that shows relative dissatisfaction of elderly users. Significant difference was observed between mean satisfaction score and hearing aid model too. In evaluating satisfaction with hearing aid and style of that only was observed in cost and services subscale (P=0.005). Conclusion: Subjects with different style of hearing aid were estimated relatively satisfied. Whereas prevalence of hearing loss is flourish, specify need to rehabilitation was developing and think for fund supply to secure that.
