The role of the universities in transforming the societies is very important. Universities played a major role as ideological apparatuses, have always been mechanisms of selection and socialisation of dominant elites. Often seen as their most important function of scientific research and training of a skilled labor force (Castells 2001). Mutual benefits between societies and universities is crucial, the universities bring benefits to society, and society provides their members with resources, prestige and recognition. The benefits to societies are creation of wealth, generate ideas, change values, enhance science, stimulate the arts, and help to maintain or change the social order. The overarching aim of the project was to increase understanding of the various ways in which universities and other higher education institutions generate, contribute or inhibit social, economic and political change. Therefore, the objective of this proposal is to implement the contribution to develop the nation.

This can achieved tentatively through the following proposed method:

Each Professor will lead a team consisting of 3-4 medical students. The professor and his team should come out with project ideas which follow the following criteria.

1. Should be original idea

2. Contribute to develop the nation

2. Contribute to develop the nation

4. Should contribute to the community

Phase 1: The role of the professor is to guide the team to come with idea. That financial support in this phase will be of 30,000 RM. At the end of this phase the team should come with the initial product. The Panel of judges will choose the best ideas of 10.

Phase 2: The top five winners’ team from phase one will qualify to enter this phase. The financial support of this phase will be 50,000 RM. At the end of this phase the team should come with the product in a pilot form. Phase 3: In this face, the team can add more members to help in marketing, producing experts from other faculty to help to make this idea real. Sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies or any related bodies will be included in this phase. The financial support of this phase is 100,000 RM.
