The college was founded as Zhejiang Medical School (æµâ¢Ã¦Â±Å¸Ã¥ÅȌ¦ä¸âéâ¨å¦校) in June 1911. July 1913, the Zhejiang Medical School was renamed as the Zhejiang Public School of Medicine (æµâ¢Ã¦Â±Å¸Ã¥â¦Â¬Ã§Â«â¹Ã¥Åȏ¯ä¸âéâ¨å¦校). August 1931, it was renamed as Zhejiang Provincial College of Medicine (æµâ¢Ã¦Â±Å¸Ã§ÅÂç«â¹Ã¥ÅȌ¦éâ¢Â¢). 1949, after the Chinese Civial War, the college was taken over by the Hangzhou Civic Military Control Committee (æÂÂå·žå¸âÃ¥â âºÃ§Â®Â¡Ã¤Â¼Å¡). During 1952-1953, the Adjustment for University Colleges and Departments (ä¸ÂÃ¥Åâ¹Ã©Â«Ëæ ¡éâ¢Â¢Ã§Â³Â»Ã¨ÂªÂ¿Ã¦â¢Â´ / ä¸ÂÃ¥âºÂ½Ã©Â«Ëæ ¡éâ¢Â¢Ã§Â³Â»Ã¨Â°Ææâ¢Â´) started, Zhejiang University was dissociated, and its medical school, merged with the Zhejiang Provincial College of Medicine, formed the Zhejiang Medical College (æµâ¢Ã¦Â±Å¸Ã¥ÅȌ¦éâ¢Â¢).
