Zayed University was established in 1998 which is the newest of the three government-sponsored higher education institutions in the United Arab Emirates countries. It is named in honor of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who is the countrys founder and first president. Maitha Al Shamsi was instated as president in 2013. She was soon followed by Lubna Khalid Al Qasimi and was appointed as President on 2014 march 04.
