Our Group organises 3000+ Global Conferenceseries Events every year across USA, Europe & Asia with support from 1000 more scientific societies and Publishes 700+ Open Access Journals which contains over 50000 eminent personalities, reputed scientists as editorial board members.
This is a public sector institution that promotes and develops the biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Val dihedrons University Hospital (HUVH), the hospital of Barcelona and the largest of Catalan Institute of Health (ICS). The members of our Board of Trustees are the Catalan Ministry of Health, the Catalan Ministry of Economy and Knowledge (we are a CERCA center), HUVH, Bank of blood and tissues, the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), of which we are an accredited research institute, and the Val dihedrons Institute of Oncology (VHIO), which together with VHIR is part of Accredited Institute of Campus Val dihedrons Institute by the Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII). Since its creation in 1994, VHIR works to find solutions to the health problems of society, and contribute to spread them around the world. In more than 20 years we have achieved leadership in biomedical research at hospitals in our country, and we want to be recognised in 2020 as an excellent and competitive European Institute leader in clinical and traslational research linked to a university hospital. In our institute are working more than 1,300 people, of which over 1,200 doing research and others, around 100, help to do it or transfer it to the society once made, whether in the form of projects, technology transfer and innovation, communication or fundraising, among others.
The best of our institution and its research staff is doing research to solve people’s health problems. Our task is not only basic or translational, we are leaders in clinical research. We have the beds of the hospital separated in less than 50 meters of laboratories and our patients will benefit from our research. In this we believe, and our efforts are focused on it. This is understood by industry leaders who are committed to our hospital, making it a world reference for its first clinical trials. In April 2015, the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) obtained the recognition of the European Commission HR Excellence.
This recognition proves that VHIR endorses the general principles of the European Charter for Researchers and a Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter & Code), and firmly supports its commitment in improving internal policies and procedures. This recognition of excellence is an opportunity to establish a comprehensive and coherent Human Resources Strategy, that should allow to achieve international visibility by providing favourable working environment for research with equal opportunities, ethical integrity and work life balance.
The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) is the tool established by the European Commission for implementing the principles of the Charter & Code. By this, the Institution has to undergo the 5 steps: 1- Internal Gap analysis, 2- Development of an Action Plan, 3- Review and acknowledgement by the European Commission, 4- Self-assessment after 2 years, and 5-External evaluation at least every 4 years. On March 2014, the VHIR initiated the process for the award recognition by performing a first analysis of the relevant applicable legislation and the alignment of the Institution with the Charter and Code principles, after specific Focus Groups were organised in order to involve all personnel and to establish priority actions. As a result, the 2015 – 2019 VHIR HRS4R Action Plan was defined, and finally approved by the Internal Scientific Committee in October 2014 and by the Board of Trustees in December 2014.
