University of Ulster

The University of Ulster was established by Queen Elizabeth II in 1968 as the New University of Ulster, it was merged with Ulster Polytechnic in 1984. The University of Ulster is an international university with multi-campus, co-educational facility situated in Northern Ireland. After the Federal National University of Ireland, it is the second largest university of Ireland. In 1984, four campuses were incorporated by the University of Ulster located at Colerain (administrative headquarters), Belfast, Derry, and Jordan town. At recent a fifth campus for online distance learning is also inaugurated. The University of Ulster is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association, Universities Ireland and Universities UK. James Nesbitt and Richard Barnett are the chancellor and vice-chancellor of the university, respectively. The university is having a total of twenty six thousand five hundred and sixty students at present for whom a large faculty comprising of one thousand one hundred and fourteen members are present.
