The University of Shizuoka is a public university established in 1987.It is located in the prefectural capital of Shizuoka. The Japanese name of the university is Shizuoka Kenritsu Daigaku and later simplified to the "University of Shizuoka." It forms an important part of a major cultural and educational complex which also includes the Shizuoka Prefectural Library and the Shizuoka Prefectural Art Museum. The University of Shizuoka is the combination of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences, the Faculty of International Relations, the School of Administration and Informatics and the School of Nursing. The university maintains graduate schools along with undergraduate programs as well as a variety of research institutes, inter-disciplinary centers and other research centers. The administration staff includes 399 and 76 (junior colleges). The intake of students is 2432 for undergraduates, 465 for post graduates and other junior college intake is 599. The main motto of University is Creativity, Knowledge, Cooperation and Diligence.
