University of Patras is an excellent university established in 1964 in Patras, Greece. Originally it was situated inside the city center the university is now at the nearby town of Rio. Protecting an area of 4.5 km², it is one of the biggest universities in the nation. Until Sept 2002, apart from Epirus it was the only university in the Peloponnese and European Greece. In particular it consists of 5 Educational institutions – University of Sciences, University of Technological innovation, University of Social Research and Humanities, University of Wellness Sciences and University of Company Management. It is the third biggest university in the nation, with 18,500 undergraduate scholars, 2000 post-graduate scholars, 670 educating staff, 369 management employees and 403 educating and research staff. The initial focus on technology has been prolonged to other educational areas such as Wellness Sciences, Humanities and Company studies. Today, its 22 departments, with a huge number of areas and consequently a great range of professions, indicate a healthy educational atmosphere.
