University of Madeira

The University of Madeira is a Portuguese public university. It was a joint dispatch of 1983 of the Secretary of State for teaching and therefore the Regional Secretariat for Education, then underneath the tutelage of Dr. Eduardo Brasao Delaware Castro, UN agency created "a commission to review the practicableness of creation and operation of a university within the Region Autonomous Region of Madeira and / or alternative institutional alternatives ". Ed, Portuguese Language (intermediate level). Post graduates courses of university are Accounting and Taxation, Management and Performance Control, Gastronomy: Tradition, Experiences and Innovation. The university ranked in top 16 universities in Portugal and world rank is 1807. The university provides an array of extracurricular activities for university students throughout the year. The main sports activities conducted by university are Squash, Basketball, Badminton, Tennis, Kart, Futsal, Table tennis, Beach Volleyball. In past university sponsored some of the events like film screenings, Sports Gala, boating trips, and volunteer opportunities. In 2008, the university celebrated its 20-year anniversary. The university ruled by José Manuel Cunha Leal and Molarinho Carmo. There are different rulers of this university José Manuel Rocha Teixeira Baptista, Ricardo Joao Nunes dos Santos Cabral, Jose Silvio Moreira Fernandes. In 2007, Madeiras arithmetic and Engineering Department, beside Carnegie Mellons Human laptop Interaction Institute (HCII) established a dual-degree Masters in Human-Computer Interaction program within the program, students study engineering science, design, psychology, and social and call sciences. Students registered within the partnership program study in Madeira and at Carnegie Mellon’s city field, earning masters degrees from each university. There are some specialised units and research projects in the university like Center for Mathematical Sciences, Studies Center of Macaronesia, Applied Economics Studies Center Atlantic, Centre for Research in Education, Chemistry Centre of Madeira, Astronomy Group at the University of Madeira and Human Genetics Lab.
