University of Gondar

The University of Gondar was started in the year 1954 and it was known as Gondar College of Medical Sciences till 2003 which is the oldest medical school in Ethiopia. The University was located in Gondar, Ethiopia. Gondar is the former capital of Ethipoia. Currently the university is offering 54 undergraduate and 64 postgraduate courses. Gondar College was reorganized with the help of University of Karl Marx in East Germany. The college played a great role in the development of public health in the city over the coming years. The Mission of the schools was to provide middle level health professionals across the country.
