Founded in 1979, the University of Beira Interior is a public university. It is situated in Covilha, Portugal. Initially it was established and a polytechnic college which was then granted full university status in 1986. The university consists of around 7,110 students distributed across graduation degrees like medicine, biomedical sciences, aeronautical engineering and mathematics. The university has five faculties divided further into departments for teaching and research. The faculties include the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering, Human and Social Sciences, Arts and Health Sciences. The University offers a wide range of courses like Architecture, Pharmacy, Communications, Sport, Cinema, Fashion designing, Multimedia, Economics and more.
