Located in Babylon, Iraq the University of Babylon was established in 1991.. Initially, the campus was the Administrative Institute of Babylon. Later some of the buildings were acquired by the medical college of the University of Kufa for use. The University teaches a variety of subjects as well as night classes. The university attracts a large number of students from in and around Babylon Province. The university encourages various extra-curricular activities like student news-paper and plays which are performed both internally and in national events. It consists of 20 colleges across three compounds. The various departments include Agriculture, Arts, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Management, Physical Education and Veterinary Medicine.
