Universitaire ziekenhuizen Leuven often referred as UZ leuven, is an academic hospital situated in Leuven, Belgium and runs in association with the university Katholieke Universiteit Leuven or KU Leuven. Dutch is main language for course studies at KU Leuven. It consists of five campuses namely at- Gasthuisberg, Lubbeek, Pellenberg, Sint-Pieter and Sint-Rafaël. The campus at Gasthuisberg is also working in association with UZ Leuven. It is the biggest and well known campuses among the five. The modern day UZ Leuven’s history is goes long back in 1080 when Sint-Pietersziekenhuis hospital was built. In English this hospital is known as Saint Peter’s hospital. Since 1426 courses are being taught in this hospital. The current state of UZ Leuven took place in 1971 at Gasthuisberg after the split of the university into French and Dutch speaking people. Since then, UZ Leuven is continuously expanding. Continuous construction is going on in some of its campuses to accommodate the increasing number of students and faculties.
