Tainan University of Technology

Tainan University In August 1964, a group of dedicated educators formed a founding committee. These people were Tsung Tang, Chien Weng, Liang-Tien Chang, Han-Jen Chi, Ying-Yeh Liu, Shye Yu, Yao Huang, Shih-En Huang, Ching-Wen Tsai, Pao-Yuan Chao, Ruei-Che Lin, Hsun-Hao Hsu, Yuan-Tsai Weng, etc. On August 15th, the Board held the first meeting and elected Tsung Tang as the Chairman. In October, the Board of trustees was approved by the Ministry of Education. In January, 1965, the school was named Private Tainan Junior College of Home Economics, with the approval of the Ministry of Education. On June 1st, 1997, the school was upgraded to be the Private Tainan Womans College of Arts & Technology, consisting of five-year Junior College. On March 5th, 1998, the college changed its name to Tainan Womans College of Arts & Technology. On August 1st 2006, the college changed its name to Tainan University of Technology. On October 1st 2010, the university changed its Chinese name. English name remains the same.
The College of Living Technology was established to cultivate living skills and arts for better lives, to improve students’ professional knowledge and ability for future careers, and to meet the needs of our developing living science and technology industries. The College of Management was founded in 2006, when the school was upgraded to the Tainan University of Technology. n 2003, three departments: Interior Design, Visual Communication, and Product Design comprised Design Group. Performing and visual arts are at the heart of the three departments that constitute the College of Arts The recent rapid growth of the tourism industry in Taiwan has resulted in a great increase of demand in both the quality and quantity of human resources.
The area of the campus is 14.536437 hectares. Divided into five parts: administration, teaching and learning, activities, living, and sports. Students can study and relax in these areas without disturbing each other. Since it is widely believed that environment has influence on shaping ones temperament, a specific organization was established to adorn the university environment. The campus currently has over two hundred kinds of trees and flowers. In addition, pavilions, gardens, fountains, statues and barbecue area built up on campus give the university a park-like atmosphere. We are thus bestowed the name “Garden School.”
