The Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital is located at the centre of a modern university campus, near the EUR district of southern Rome. It also operates the nearby Centre for the Healthcare of the Elderly and a separate Oncology Centre in the Prenestino district.
The Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital provides its patients with full medical care in all key functional areas. Its method of interdisciplinary working ensures not only a full diagnosis but also continuity of care involving specialists in the various Clinical Departments. Its research activities, conducted in close collaboration with the University’s Biomedicine and Bioengineering Advanced Research Centre, promote constant developments in the methods of treatment and the technologies used in the clinical setting.
The Hospital has more than thirty Clinical Departments. It provides health care not only for patients under the Italian National Health Service but for private patients too. Its services include an outpatients department, a day hospital and associated day surgery services, plus inpatient wards with flexible admission schedules designed to not only ensure the most efficient use of the hospital beds available, but also to be able to respond to the requirements of each Clinical Area as and when these arise.
The Hospital is home to the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome’s School of Medicine, itself a byword for the pursuit of synergies across a whole range of clinical, teaching and research activities. One key feature is its interdisciplinary and team work which is able to draw on a wealth of expertise both within individual Clinical Departments as well as between the other various Units and Services available on site.
