The IISPV must be a national and international reference center and translational biomedical research in the service of the population and as an instrument of health centres in the area that is proper. Mission is to manage resources efficiently IISPV themselves and others and provide the best service available to their potential for health professionals, so that through the promotion, consolidation and translational research the biomedical field is to improve the health and wellbeing of the population. The projects which the institution appears ISCIII projects are financed by the "National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation (I + D + I) and the Instituto de Salud Carlos III and cofinanciados con fondos FEDER." The challenges and objectives for which we work every day: the main aim of the institute is to be IISPV with enough features and benefits in order to achieve accreditation of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) as Health Research Institute. One of the fundamental objectives of IISPV is to promote excellence in biomedical research in strategic areas that have been defined in terms of both production and transfer. IISPV is currently the leader in biomedical research institution in the province of Tarragona and Terres de lEbre. However, this fact should not be a goal in itself but a tool to become an international reference center. It should, however, strengthen the recognition and participation of international research activity in clinical trials, competitive projects, publications in high impact journals and the presence in an international clinical GUIs.
