Ondokuz Mayıs University is a state university founded in 1975 in Samsun. Ondokuz Mayıs University is one of the leading universities in Turkey. It has a good number of staff about 2000 and 40000 students. With good staff quality and has good infrastructure and also academics. It provides a happy environment for the students to participate in cultural activities, Sports and social environment. In order to develop and being recognized in the international platforms it is important for Internationalization. As the research quality is very important for the development of university we make our students being aware of it.
Our University has 160 Erasmus Agreements with 23 European countries and 36 Mevlana protocoles. Within the framework of the Bologna Process, our university makes continuous effort both on developing the academic programmes in order to increase the quality of education and research.
The Rector is the formal head of the university. He is appointed for a period of four years by the President of Turkey from among candidates elected by the University academic staff proposed by the Higher Education Board. Three Vice Rectors are appointed by the University Rector among Professors employed in the University to assist him during his term of office.
