Having assumed the sovereignty, Ukraine greatly extended the international cooperation. In 2001 Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education became one of the first among the higher medical educational establishments in Ukraine to be a full collective member of the International Personnel Academy (UNESCO). Since 2008 the Academy has been a full collective member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences. Since 2011NMAPE has been a member of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE). Year after year, the Academy expands its international ties.
