Muà Ÿ Alparslan University, was founded with the law no. 5662 " To Make Changes in the Law on Organization of Higher Education Institutions and in the Statements Attached to the Delegated Legislations about both the Higher Education Teaching Staff and the General Staff and Its Method" in 29 May 2007, as one of the 17 new universities. Within Mus Alparslan University founded as a part of the law no. 5662, there are six faculties, two institutions, a school of health and two vocational schools. The university consists of Faculty of science, faculty of education, faculty of economic and administrative science, faculty of communication, faculty of Islamic sciences and faculty of engineering. It also accommodates two graduate schools: Graduate school of medical sciences and graduate school of social sciences. It has two schools namely, School of health and high school of Physical education and sports. There are four vocational schools, Vocational School of Malazgirt, Vocational School of Health, Vocational School of Social Sciences, and Vocational School of Technical Sciences. Muà Ÿ Alparslan University also has eleven research centres:AFTERMARKET, BAYPUAM, KENER, ART AND CULTURE, LALEM, CENTRAL LAB UYG, .SEM, SOSPOL, TÖMER, UZEM, and YEKÇEM.
