Mid Sweden University was established in the year 1993, in the location of Sweden. The university has been established by the merger of two universities, University college of Sundsvall and University college of Ostersund, both been founded in 1977. Being a type of public research university, the control of the university has been assigned to its Board of Control rather than legislature. The university has eight important departments under the three main authorized areas of research. These areas are divided under the classification of faculties, including science, technology and media, faculty of human sciences and faculty of human sciences. Also it offers the courses with all bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees, where other professional degrees are also offered in the university. It is the Mid Sweden University that has given start up carrier to many of the world known personalities being the alumni of the university.
