Kadir Has University (KHU) was founded in 1997, in Istanbul. The university, with its five faculties of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Law and Fine Arts, as well as its several vocational schools, is dedicated to becoming a leader in educational and cultural fields in Turkey, as well as establishing itself as an international centre for research and scientific development.The university regulations include Kadir Has University Graduate Education and Training Regulation, Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulation, Kadir Has University Regulations For Graduate Education, Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Summer Education Regulation, Summer School Regulation.
The faculty and departments include Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Applied Sciences. Other than this the graduate schools include Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Graduate School of Social Sciences, KHas Business School.
In its approach to scientific research, Kadir Has University holds to the three classical principles of academia, and these are education, research, and dissemination of knowledge. At Kadir Has University, the dissemination of the results of research is just as important as the research itself. For this reason, the scholarly data, findings, methods, processes of research, and ideas resulting from research and events organized by academic units and research centers at KHAS are regularly shared with the members of the general public for the benefit of the country as well as for all of humanity. In this regard it should be pointed out that, among universities in Turkey, the faculty members at KHAS are the most frequently consulted by domestic and foreign media. The work that was carried out between 2006 and 2011 which focused on developing and realizing the university’s research strategies resulted in the establishment of STRAR, the Office of Strategy Development and Research. STRAR strives to ensure that the university’s core values are reflected in ethically guided scientific research activities and events as we progress towards our goal of becoming an internationally competitive academic institution.
University has research centres CIES, Turkey Research Centre, MARC, Sports Studies Research Centre, Istanbul Study centre. International and national research projects were held in the university of Has. Other than that KHAS Bap Projects, Consultancy projects, Activity projects and Infrastructure projects. It has collaboration with UNESCO. The UNESCO Chair brings together network of academicians (Kadir Has Univeristy and others) in collaboration with local governments, national/international NGO’s including Turkish National Commission for UNESCO, and expert private enterprise.
