Himachal Pradesh Technical University is a State Government University which is established with the objectives of value creation and to create the welfare in society through the technical education and research, enhancing the educational programmes, to the autonomous universities under this, affiliated colleges and affiliated private colleges. In this University, under UG B. Pharma (Allopathy) and (Ayurveda), B. Tech (All subject areas) are into existence with well-established faculty, Under the PG, professional fields like MBA, MCA, M. Pharma, M. Tech are existing as per the requirements from the upcoming students. These professional courses were established with well-furnished laboratories and libraries with required documents and approvals. HPTU has released its Interface on the Industry Academia, which includes the MOU partner of the associated Universities for the promotion and development of academic and research cooperation, moreover to exchange of scientific information. The admission is based on the test scored by individuals as per the State merit exam, and the university annual intake for B. pharmacy is 847, which includes the affiliated colleges. The annual intake for the year 2016-17 for B. Tech is 30, and for the MBA it is 312 as annual intake, for the masters in pharmacy is about 28 for the year 2016-17. Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh has made the announcement for the establishment of Himachal Pradesh Technical University with the aim to expel the excellent competent environment to develop the technical education across the State. The Himachal Pradesh Technical University (Established and Regulation) Act, 2010 has laid the foundation of the statement for building the university. Succeeding to this, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to appoint the 21st August, 2010 as the date on which the said Act came into existence. The Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University has taken the charge on 7th January, 2011. The mission of the Himachal Pradesh Technical University has aimed to create the human knowledge with the excellence and benefit to the society through research area integrated with technical education. University flourishes the most challenging, fundamental points in science, technology and management in the interdisciplinary atmosphere, simultaneously brings the awareness in outstanding students to become ideal persons in the society.
