Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine (HLJUCM) is the medical university in Harbin, China was founded in the year 1954; it is a prominent university with the high level of teaching research and medical care for key formation and development in Heilongjiang province. It got its first batch of excellence outcomes in Undergraduate Teaching Assessment by Ministry of Education in year 2004 and in the year 2007 excelled states first Professional Certification of Undergraduate Course in Chinese Medicine by Ministry of Education in, was appointed to be the National Clinical Base of Chinese Medicine in 2008 and successfully passed the TCM degree authentication from the Singapore TCM Practitioners Board in 2010.
HLJCUM has 11 affiliated colleges, 11 affiliated hospitals, one academy, twenty-four teaching hospitals and Sixty-two practice-training bases, three mobile post-doctoral scientific research stations, Twenty Eight specialities authorized to grant doctorate degree, Thirty six specialists authorized to grant the master degree and 21 specialities authorized to award bachelor degree. The overseas student education program of HLJUCM was started in the 1980s. For many years, HLJUCM has attached great importance to the international education, academic exchange and international cooperation of TCM. The oversea student scale of HLJUCM expands gradually with the development of the international education level.
Now the oversea student source of HLJUCM covers Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania and Africa. The education level covers degree education and short-term training, and more than 5000 oversea students have successfully graduated from HLJUCM.
HLJUCM has set the first “Confucius Institute for TCM” worldwide at London, U.K. to carry out the education of Chinese medicine. At present, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine has 2,449 teaching and organizational staffs, of which, 685 are professors, associate professors or holders of relevant professional titles, 86 are tutors of doctoral students, 221 are master tutors, 38 of the specialists enjoy the special government allowance, 4 are members of national talents engineering, etc. For 2 consecutive years, the Confucius institute for TCM has been awarded “advanced Confucius institute”
