This university is the first project under the Progoti Foundation for Education and Development (PFED) which is a non-profitable, non-political, charitable organization that was maintained solely by business people, academic professionals under the leadership of Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, who is an economist and former governor of Bangladesh Bank.
