Durham University is the third ancient university in England. It is marked as the colligate research university located in the province of Durham in North East England. The history of the university spans 175 years ago since the time it was founded. The university was granted the royal charter, the right to award degree by King William IV. The university campus holds the heritage building of the city. The university spreads for about 227.8 hectare of land comprising of UNESCo world heritage site, an ancient monument, 5 grade-one listed building and 68 grade two listed building along with woodland. The university is divided into two campuses: Durham city and Queens campus.
