Cardiff University School of Medicine was founded in 1893 at Cardiff, Wales, UK and the main focus of the school has been to improve human health through teaching and research in medicine. It is the oldest and major place of teaching and research in Wales for medicine. It is listed in top 10 medical schools of the UK and top 100 of the world. The school comprises of 500 acadamic and 300 support staff, and 1000 undergraduate and 1100 postgraduate students. It offers various under graduate, post graduate and research programs. Undergraduate courses of the school include: Medicine (MBBCh) which is the major one, Medicine (MBBCh) with a preliminary year, Medicine (MBBCh) four year graduate entry, Medical Pharmacology (science route) (BSc), and Medical Pharmacology (medical route) (BSc). The school is offering several postgraduate programs on part time basis which allow students to work while they are studying. It confers research scholars with PhD, MPhil, MD, Pg Cert, BMRT, or MRes degree at the end of their research. It also offers e-learning facility in distance mode which greatly benefits overseas students who can follow classes on internet.
