Artesis Plantijn University College / AP Hogeschool Antwerpen

Artesis Plantijnhogeschool Antwerp, is a college in Antwerp, created as a merger between Artesis and Plantijnhogeschool. The university was started in academic year 2013-2014 with 22 undergraduate programs, six art schools and over 8,500 students. On December 12, 2012 was Artesis Plantijnhogeschool Antwerp announced as the new name for the Antwerp merger. The Artesis Plantijnhogeschool is also a member of AUHA , the Association Antwerp University. Academic and merger in 2013 On July 5, 2012 the Flemish Parliament approved a new reform of higher education well as implementation of the Bologna Declaration of 1999, the European educational reform which introduced the bachelor-master. From the academic year 2013-2014 academic college courses are integrated into the university (academic) schools are merged in Antwerp and Limburg and there is gender balance in many boards: The academic is the difference between academic programs at the universities and courses at university level raised in colleges. The 22,000 students concerned are not physically moved but the universities have responsibility for education and research policy, quality management, personnel policy and the awarding of diplomas. The relevant personnel make the transition to college while maintaining rights and obligations. The academic art courses are an exception and continue with their specificities within the colleges. To properly support the academicll get a School of Arts, a separate structure in which reside the universities. In October 2013 new pluralistic colleges be established by merging with greater autonomy for their functioning and composition. Antwerp merge Artesis and Plantin. Pascale de Groote was general manager of the Artesis Plantijnhogeschool Antwerp, it was from 2001 to 2013 head of department of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. An important new aspect is the gender balance. A lot of major organs in higher education will have to be made up from October 2013 up to 2/3 board members of the same sex. The headquarters of the university is located in Lange. From September 2015, the campuses Tree, Mechelen, Horse Fair, Merksem and the South together in Campus Spoor Noord. This includes in itself the two campuses Noorderplaats and Ellermanstraat.
