The armed forces institute of Pathology is located in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It is a premier reference diagnostic laboratory of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The institute is commanded by the senior most pathologist of the Armed Forces who is usually a Major General. The institute was established in 1947, to serve the military troops. The institute research tropical diseases, infectious diseases. It has departments such as Histopathology, Haematology, Chemical pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, Virology, Endocrinology and Nuclear Medicine.
