Maxillofacial injuries and temporomandibular disorders are very common and comprises the results of various types of sporting activities such as soccer, skiing, basketball, cycling, hockey, snowboarding, boxing and other contact combat sports. Contact sports are reported to be cause of about 19% of maxillofacial and 33% of dental injuries. Boxing-related injuries are considered more serious among other sports due to repetitive and direct traumas to head and face region, which are prohibited in other discipline.
