The Society for Glycobiology

The Society for Glycobiology is a nonprofit and scholarly society devoted to the pursuit of knowledge of glycan structures and functions, and to share that knowledge with scientists worldwide. The first meeting of the Society for Glycobiology held on October 16, 1967 in New York hosted by Richard Winzler and Om Bahl University of New York, Buffalo. The Society voted to sponsor a "Social Hour" in April during the FASEB meetings, and continued to do so until 1987 because of poor attendance. Society for Glycobiology honored to offer members a discount subscription Glycobiology, published in the Oxford Journal. Society for Glycobiology provides education that includes the basics of glycobiology, immunology etc. Some members of the Society for Glycobiology victory by Karl Meyer Lectureship Award and Rosalind Kornfeld Lifetime Achievement Award.
