The Canadian Biomaterial Society was established as a non-profit organization to develop the study of bio-material science and technology throughout Canada. Its member comprises of students, postdoc associates and highly eminent professors from around Canada. CBS is one of the members of the international community of biomaterials societies along with United States, Europe, Japan, Australia, China and Korea and is known represented by the International Union of Societies of Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUS-BSE).
The Biomaterial Congress of this society is held every year with the last one organized in Toronto in the year 2015.
