American Association of Health Education

The American Association for Health Education (AAHE) was established in 1937 with an intention to serve health educator and other professionals that intended to promote the health of all people. AAHE is a professional membership organization; oldest and largest health education association that attains organizational mission primarily focuses on different areas of health education. The wide range approach of associations particularly AAHE encourages, supports, and assists health professionals and is concerned with health promotion through education and other systematic strategies.

AAHE is one of six national associations in the American Associations includes Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD).  AAHE's took major part in ground breaking position statements, various research studies, and different publications. It also became major activity in the development of professional support with certain recognized tools to assist health educators in all corners of the society. AAHE provides technical assistance to legislative and professional bodies that are engaged in registering the appropriate legislation and related guidelines. The associations like AAHE with leadership in promoting policies and evaluative procedures will show result in effective health education programs. With the systematic strategies following assisting the health educators AAHE took projects and focused and on following areas like: HIV Prevention and control,   cultural awareness and sensitivity, Drug abuse prevention, govern seat belt safety education,  and Skin cancer prevention.
