Allergy Society of South Africa

The society of Allergy South Africa has placed a great emphasis on helping to improve patient welfare. It is also mainly involving for the work to currently being done to improve the health of allergy sufferers worldwide. It is the Allergy Society of South Africa represents all related allied health professionals, providing to advance the knowledge and method of allergy and immunology through publications, meetings, and conferences and to foster the education of both students and the public. The society provides an informal networking opportunity where new friendships or working benefits are formed and old findings are renewed. We are a very friendly Society. Junior doctors training in allergy who become BSACI members can attend to the four annual BSACI training days (which cover the whole curriculum over three years) at free of charge. Members are also capable to apply for a number of travel bursaries to attend allergy conferences. The members of the society are been taken from physicians, base and clinical scientists, nurses, dieticians and others with interest in the field. This is reflected in the society's sub-committees which are represented on Council, our governing body. Research is supported indirectly through promotion of high standards and offering platforms for scientific presentation and publication, and directly through the significant financial contributions to the Society's affiliated charity.
