Globally, twelve percent of all deaths among adults aged 30 years and over are attributable to tobacco use. The harm from smokeless tobacco use, both at the level of individuals and society at large has posed a complex and widespread challenge to public health which has so far received limited attention from researchers and policy makers. In spite of rapidly evolving landscape of manufacturing and marketing of smokeless tobacco, these products are not sufficiently regulated in many countries
