It is the essential respiration organ in body. These are pair of spongy air filled organs which are placed either side of the thoracic cavity. The lungs consist of trachea bronchi and bronchioles and alveoli. Lungs are divided into two different lobes. The lungs are covered by a thin layer called pleura. A thin layer of fluid acts as a lubricant allowing the lungs to slip smoothly as they expand and contract with each respiration.
