Communication disorder is defined as lack of ability to receive , send, process, comprehend concepts, verbal or non-verbal and graphic symbol systems. There are different types of communication disorders which are as follows;

a. Difficulties in articulation: inability of subject to utter speech or any verbal sounds. It affects neural system which regulates voice and speech.

b. Phonological difficulties: it is defined as mismatch between level of development on hold on particular linguistic sound system and perception of phonetic combination.

c. Fluency disorders: Abnormal or frequent breaks in flow of speech such as shuttering or stammering. Generally it arises in childhood.

d. Disorders in linguistic perception: it is defined as difficulty in understanding words, grammatical structure, phonetics of a language should be known.

e. Voice disorders: voice disorders occurs due to neural or hormonal irregularities.
