Conservation Biology

It is the scientific study of the nature and of Earth's biodiversity with the aim of protecting species, their habitats, and ecosystems from excessive rates of extinction and the erosion of biotic interactions. This is mainly due to the fact that we degrade or destroy their natural habitat to clear land for buildings, roads and agriculture. Conservation biologists usually work towards protecting a focal species, or a specific species, which, if conserved, will help the ecosystem as a whole.
