F Pacheco-Torgal

Biography

F.Pacheco Torgal is an investigator at C-TAC Research Centre, University of Minho. He´s the only FCT Investigator in the field of civil engineering. Authored almost 300 publications, 103 papers in peer reviewed journals, 90 publications in Scopus and 78 in ISI Web of Science-WoS and 45 papers published in ISI-A1 journals. Viewed so far more almost 90.000 times according to Elsevier Research Dashboard. His overall publications were viewed or downloaded almost 300.000 times. By 2025 his Elsevier papers will have been viewed almost 400.000 times and his overall publications will have been viewed or downloaded more than one million times. First author of 21 papers in ISI-A1 journals with a special mention. Six papers in the Top 25 Hottest articles of Science Direct, one being the third most cited between 3826, two papers in the Top 1% most cited, seven papers in the Top 5% most cited, three in Top 10% and two papers in the Top 10 most cited SCI articles between 5399. Citations received in ISI WoS journals-786 (h-index=15), citations received in Scopus journals- 1108 (h-index=18) and citations in Scholar Google-2121 (h-index=23). Citations prediction for the year 2025 (around 2900 citations on WoS, 5300 on Scopus and 7500 on scholar google). Has the highest SCI h-index/year ratio (1.7) in the field of civil engineering in Portugal (self-citations excluded). Future h-index prediction for the year 2025 using Körding´s algorithm (WoS h-index=28, Scopus h-index=30). Invited reviewer for 73 international journals. He has reviewed more than 260 papers submitted to international journals (79% ISI WoK journals). His review record places him in the top 1% between more than 4700 reviewers registered in Publons with 690 merit points. Member of the editorial board of 5 international journals. Awarded Outstanding Reviewer Status for the ISI journal Materials and Design in May of 2015. Awarded with the Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing for the ISI journal Construction and Building Materials in June of 2014. Grant assessor for the Australian Research Council, the Foundation for Polish Science and the British Research Council. Lead Editor of 14 international books, 10 already published by Springer and WoodHead Publishing-Elsevier Science and Technology with more than 500 contributors from 50 countries in the five continents SCI h-index >20 (35 contributors), SCI h-index >30 (12 contributors), SCI h-index >40 (3 contributors). Some of these books are available in the libraries of Harvard University, Stanford Univ., MIT, Univ. Cambridge, Univ. Oxford, Tsinghua Univ. ETH Zürich, Imperial College London including in all the libraries of the 10 most important universities according to the 2014 Shanghai Ranking World Top 500 Universities.
