Biography
Dr. Shirly Raichal Anil completed Bachelor in Science (Botany)from University of Calicut, Masters in Science (Genetics and Plant Breeding) and Ph.D(Botany)from University of Kerala.
Research Interest
Research interest in the field of Genetics and Cytogenetics of cahew for the 12 years and tropical tuber crops for 10 years. During the initial 12 years I worked on in vitro propagation aspects of cashew like somatic embryogenesis,in vitro grafting and breeding for MAS and molecular markers in germplasm characterisation of cashew. During the latter 10 years I investigated into the systematics of Amorphophallus using morphological, cytological and molecular markers, morphological and molecular characterization of sweet potato and in vitro conservation of germplasm of tuber crops and breeding in Amorphophallus (elephant foot yam.
