Description of the country
The official name of Turkey is Republic of Turkey and its capital is Ankara. Turkey is considered as the Gateway between Europe and Asia. Turkey is fenced by the Black Sea, the Marmara Sea, the Aegean Sea and Mediterranean Sea.

Geography of the country
 Turkey is spread on a total area of 780,000 sq. kilometers, with population of 70 million. 99% of the Turkish population is Muslims. Turkey is neighbored by Greece and Bulgaria on its west, Russia, Ukraine and Romania on the north, Iran on the east, and Syria and Iraq on the south. The Sea of Marmara and the Bosporus divide the country. Its center is a treeless plateau rimmed by the mountains.

Status of economy, research and development
 The providence of Turkey is defined as an emerging market economy. It has world’s 18th largest GDP. The country is pioneer among the world's leading producers of agricultural products, textiles, motor vehicles, ships and other transportation equipment, construction matter, consumer electronics and home gadgets. TUBITAK, TUBA and TEAK are the leading institutions for growing science, technology and novel policies in Turkey. Turkey has the 5th highest direct utilization and capacity of geothermal powers and is ranked 10th in production of minerals in the world. Turkey has the 2nd longest oil pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline) in the world to deliver crude oil to the world market. Going deeper into the study of Turkey's research yield, study shows that Turkey is good at chemistry, engineering and medicine Koc University,Istanbul cerrahpasa Medical School and Hacettepe Medical School and others are influencing the medical research. Aziz Sancar was awarded Nobel Prize in Chemistry for mechanistic studies of DNA repair.
