Abstract

Mucosal bacterial infections present a formidable challenge to public health worldwide, affecting various mucosal surfaces and often causing a spectrum of diseases ranging from mild discomfort to life-threatening conditions. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the latest insights and interventions in the field of mucosal bacterial infections. Recent research has elucidated key mechanisms of infection, including the delicate balance of mucosal microbiota, bacterial adhesion and invasion strategies, immune evasion tactics, and the formation of biofilms.
