Abstract
Caring for a person with one of the many forms of dementia is complicated, long lasting and stressful. In order to provide timely, accurate
and compassionate care, one must understand not only what is needed in a specific stage, but what to prepare for as disease progresses. In
this presentation, participants will be provided an overview of each stage and an introduction to managing the challenges presented. All too often
caregivers die before the person in care. Educating caregivers is critical to addressing this often overlooked, very important aspect of dementia
care management.
